la castella. a picturesque little village with a very cool castle. we pulled in here for lunch before carrying on to Crotone, according to Eamon this is where all the crutones are made. were going to do a tour of the crutone factory tomorrow and then to the crutone museum.

swordfish boat the driver sits at the top of the mast and the fisher stands at the end of the bow sprit, mad looking yoke isn't it. they sneek up on the swordfish as it sleeps on the water surface.

isla volcano just off the NE coast of Sicily. with its black volcanic sandy beach. leaving for the straite hope to be there for the 1630 tide

leaving Palermo. happy days it is a dirty town not a great tourist destination. were now heading for isla vulcano should be there @ 1200 tonight, where we will anchor and wait for daylight to go through the messina straite. thanks to all for your comments it great to no your following our little adventure. keep them comming.

sicily baby yea. after a four day non stoper we have the last long stint over and done. looking forword to a stand up shower and a dinner plate instead of a dog bowl. the next thing is the mizzina strait and the lighthouse of the Mediterranean (an active vulcano on the island of Lipari).
