Hi all! Sorry its been so long since our last report. We have been a bit busy! We left Puroto Aquadulce,on Thusrday Morning for Ibiza which should have taken about 30hrs but ended up taking 48hrs because of the wind on the nose as usual. Progress was slow due to having no niddle batten in the main sail, which meant we could not use as much sail as we wanted, and also for the last half of the trip we had no wind at all. But we arrived at Formantura at 0630 on Sat morning where we anchored and slept for 3 hours and proceeded onto Ibiza town. We tied up in Peurto Departivo Ibiza marina and meet up with Peters Friends Sean & Savanna who took us up to there beautiful villa on the west coast of Ibiza island ( I would quite gladly stay here for a while if i was let), Our plan is to try and get upto Menorca were we should have more favourable winds for getting Siciliy and also my Sister said we could stay in her Villa for a night (VILLA HOPING IS GREAT), but at the moment the wind is Northely upto 30 knots + until Tuesday. We decided to take the boat out of the most expensive marina in the world as far as i am concerned and anchor in a bay on the west side of the island and wait for the wind, but when we did the engine check before leaving we discovered a leaking gasket were the sea water gets pumped through the Gear box, which is not surprising concidering the amount of work it has been doing lately. So i have been organising to get a volvo mechanic down to fix it tomorrow. Hopefully it will be easy to fix if they have the part but we are in Spain - Fingers crossed. So another night in a lovely villa high in the hills of Ibiza will have to be had.dsh Oh the hargship! The rest is needed i think as next leg across to Sicilly will be a long one. Ibiza is lovely we are enjoying being looked after by Sean & Suvanna. Thats all for know. I will let you all know how we get on with the engine. Hoping to be in Menorca on Wednesday morning all going well. Talk soon.
Eamon.
